• CFD Letters received its first SJR (SCImago Journal Rank) in 2013. The journal is classified as Q3 in two subject categories: Fluid Flow and Transfer Processes | Modelling and Simulation. The 2y Cites per Doc metric (which is calculated using the same formula that Thomson Reuters' Impact Factor ™ uses is: 0.7.
  • Fluid flow and convective heat transfer over wall mounted cube have been studied numerically using Large Eddy Simulation. Surface of wall mounted cube and plane floor has a constant heat flux. Two subgrid scale models were used in this study; Wall-Adapting Eddy viscosity (WALE) and Dynamic Smagorinsky (DS).
  • The turbulent simulation of the droplet breakup shows the importance of the subgrid-scale turbulence modeling. One can clearly identify a stagnant low velocity zone in front of the droplet and a high velocity zone around the droplet. On the threshold between these two zones turbulence effects emerge resulting in the characteristic shape of the droplet during the breakup process at Weber numbers higher than 1000.
  • In the present paper, a numerical code has been developed with different turbulence models aiming at simulating turbulent bubbly flows in vertical circular pipes. The mass and momentum conservation equations are used to describe the motion of both phases (water/air).
